Rocking Tokyo Bicycle Delivery since 1989!
Happy to see they still use two way radios, just like Courio-City ! I learned that in Japan most of the clients still call their jobs in.
The bike messenger scene was heavily affected all over the world due to the past few years events. We are down but definitely not out, can I get a Hell Yeah!
We took trains everywhere! So proud of Luca, they traveled as a Champ!
Tokyo has Eight train companies and they work together incredibly.
Yo The garbage and recycling trucks are tiny compared to the ones I work with at DSNY!
From what I can see, NYC can learn a lot from Japan about reducing waste. Each One Teach One!
Chikappa came out to meet us before we started the Sky Tour Bus Ride. Homie is the current Cycle Messenger World Champion and will be defending in Yokohama at CMWC in September!

We Arrived early Tuesday at Haneda Airport and took a train to Shinagawa which is close to our AirBnB. Check in wasn’t until 4pm tho, we put our luggage in lockers at the train station then headed to meet my friend Yasuyo at the Mikoshi Festival in Omiya.
We trained it from Omiya to Shibuya and spent the rainy afternoon at a record shop and pizza joint.
It was heavy thunderstorms! Pleasantly surprised by the waiter at the pizza shop giving us umbrellas when we left β€οΈ
Wednesday we headed to Chiyoda City and got travel sim cards for our phones. Also checked out the og godzilla statue by toho studios. After that we trained it to Shinjuku, picked up another GZ sighting and hit some more record shops.
We scored some Japanese hardcore band shirts at Disk Union and! a flyer for a live music show on Saturday.
We were advised that it’s kid friendly so… Yeah! We will be there π
Today we went to Yokohama on the Shinkansen Could have taken the regular trains but I figured hey, Good experience for the kiddo!
First stop in Yokohama was Courio-City ! Yanaken and crew have been doing the thing for 20+ years and business is great!
They are also organizing CMWC 2023! I am going to miss it but so glad I could visit πΈ
